Reinstate Solar Panels on the White House

This is a plain and simple reminder to the Obama administration.
Climate change is a real threat to America and must be dealt with swiftly. President Carter was a man with a plan so to speak. He preached renewable energy and a future where we no longer bowed to big oil. President Carter installed solar panels on the White House sending a clear message to American citizens, “I’m in this with you.”
President Obama please reinstall solar panels and send a message. A message of real hope and change. That we as Americans can stand together and make a difference. We determine our own future. A future with clean air and security.

I agree wholeheartedly with this petition because, if nothing else, it cut down costs for the White House electricity and heating. Furthermore, the only reason Reagan took them down is because he didn’t like the message they were sending. Between 1981 and 1986, the Reagan administration cut funding for renewable energy research and public renewable energy tax credits by 90%, so I think it was very obvious where he stood on the issue.
This petition was created on October 3rd and needs 25,000 signatures by November 2nd; it’s currently at a little over 2,000 signatures. So please, if either you believe in fighting for the environment or just like the idea of the White House doing this to save (tax payers) money then sign the petition!
